"I do not buy this solidarity. It's a huge projection" - Interview with Dastan Jasim
ID 127410
There are currently numerous occasions for feminist struggles internationally. The bodies and freedoms of women and queers are under massive threat in many places. Be it in Afghanistan under the Taliban, in Islamist Iran or in Sudan, from where reports of gender-specific violence have not ceased since the RSF, a paramilitary and Islamic group, attempted to take power in mid-April 2023.
However, many events on this year's day of feminist struggle focused on solidarity with Palestine. Other global conflicts hardly played a role on 8 March. How come? What gaps are there in the Western (feminist) left?
We talked about these questions and more with Dastan Jasim. She is a political scientist and Doctoral Fellow at the German Institute for Global and local Studies.
